Mum-to-be: Singer Lily Allen shows off her pregnancy bump as she attends the UK premiere of Tamara Drewe in London

She has kept her pregnancy bump under wraps since she announced she was expecting her first child last month.

But tonight, Lily Allen proudly showed off her burgeoning stomach as she attended the UK premiere of Tamara Drew in London.

The singer looked radiant as she posed for the cameras outside the Odeon Leicester Square, her bump all too clear to see.

She looked chic in a black maxi dress that was trimmed at the hem and the sleeves with a bright floral pattern.

And she unwittingly managed to draw all the attention away from the film's star Gemma Arterton, who arrived at the premiere in a simple and chic long cream dress.

But the flashbulb frenzy seemed to focus on Lily, 25, who is due to give birth early next year.

She was one of the many guests at the premiere of the film, which was produced by her mother Alison Owen.

And earlier, Lily took to her Twitter page to reveal that supporting her mum had won over an invite to the Elle magazine 25th birthday party, taking place on the other side of London.

She wrote: It's ELLE magazine's 25th birthday issue this month. There's a party to celebrate but I can't go. Sorry ELLE :(.'

She then added: 'It's the premiere for my mum's film Tamara Drewe so I'm going there instead.'

The film is based on a weekly comic strip in the Guardian newspaper's Review section by Posy Simmonds, which is itself based on a modern reworking of Thomas Hardy's novel Far From The Madding Crowd.

Gemma, 24, stars as Tamara Drewe, a young journalist who returns to her hometown in Dorset and discovers that her childhood home is being put up for sale.

Gemma stars alongside Mamma Mia star Dominic Cooper and comedienne Tamsin Greig in the movie, which is released this Friday.

But Gemma revealed that she did not want to play the lead role when she was first offered the part.

Speaking at the premiere, she said: 'I didn't actually want to play Tamara when I first read it because I didn't like her.

'She's a femme fatale but she's really lost, she's desperate, she's a very modern woman. I know a lot of women like Tamara Drewe.

'It's good to play people that you don't understand originally because you have to work out why they do the things that they do.'
