CNN’s Anderson Cooper to Marry Gay Boyfriend? Adopt a Child?

We’ve all heard the rumors.

We didn’t want to believe them...

But it turns out that CNN journalist and host Anderson Cooper may be ready to marry his gay boyfriend.

Copper has hinted about his homosexuality but has never really come out and addressed it directly, although he has appeared in “Out” and “The Advocate” Magazines.

Over the last several years Cooper has been linked with gay club owner Benjamin Maisini, and is frequently seen out in public riding bikes and shopping around New York. The two own an old renovated Fire House on Long Island - fire pole included.

Anderson, 44, is the son of wealthy Gloria Vanderbilt but has always wanted to make a go in television on his own merits – and not those of his rich parents.

But the National Inquirer is reporting that mama Gloria has all but outed the couple saying,

“Anderson and Ben are in love, but they were on the verge of breaking up. Between Anderson’s dangerous work assignments and Ben’s crazy hours at the club, the guys reached an impasse.”

They also say that Gloria worked hard to bring the two back together after they almost broke up. She says all she want’s is for Anderson to be happy and settle down with Ben and adopt a child.

When asked his sexuality in an interview Cooper responded,

"I understand why people might be interested. But I just don’t talk about my personal life. It’s a decision I made a long time ago, before I ever even knew anyone would be interested in my personal life. The whole thing about being a reporter is that you're supposed to be an observer and to be able to adapt with any group you’re in, and I don’t want to do anything that threatens that."

Cooper has discussed openly that he would like to adopt a child but says the lack of time and his career prevents him from doing it now.

And poor CNN - they may be in a bit of a PR crisis these days as just last week anchorman Don Lemon admitted that he was gay – not that there is anything wrong with that.

Were pretty sure CNN doesn’t want a whole lot of attention drawn to them because of their correspondents sexuality – ratings are low enough already.

Not that there is anything wrong with that…

Video - Actor George Takei Takes on Tennessee’s “Don’t Say Gay” Bill

As a child I used to watch Star Trek, and Mr. Sulu was one of my heroes.

Who would have thought that 30 years later George Takei would be a vigorous gay rights activist, married to a gay man, and advocating for our gay and lesbian youth?

Takei is lashing out at the Tennessee legislature for their bill effecting thousands of school children across the state.

George says,

“A bill now pending in Tennessee would prohibit teachers in that state from discussing homosexuality in the classroom. The so-called "don't say gay" law is premised on the misguided belief that, by not talking about gay people, they can simply make them disappear”.

George took to YouTube yesterday to tell Tennessee and all the LGBT youth and teachers who would be affected by this law that he was there for them.

In fact, Takei is lending his name to the cause saying any time you need to say the word "gay," you can simply say "Takei."

Get it?

We’re very impressed with George’s tenacity on this issue and his video response to Tennessee below is hilarious.

In addition to his video being shown on the Rachel Maddow show yesterday, George took to twitter to help push the cause saying,

“Thx to the thousands behind me on this campaign! Oh Myyy, that sounds really Takei... The Don't Say Gay bill just passed the TN Senate 19 to 11. Those kids need our support more than ever! A big thx to my Tweeps who pushed my video to #1 "most viewed comedy" on YouTube in the last 24 hrs!”

Hey, Tennessee! Here's my response to your "Don't Say Gay" Bill

George may not have made the Forbes top 100 most powerful celebrities list this year, but we sure are honored to have him on InfoStar’s top 10 influential gay celebrities list for 2011.

InfoStar’s Top 10 Influential Gay Celebrities - 2011 Edition

Wow, has it already been three years since we posted our original top 10 gay Hollywood list?

There have been a few notable newcomers over the last three years so we decided to update our list for 2011. The big change this year is we combined male and female into one category.

We are not haters. We applaud and appreciate these individuals for their efforts and courage to be who they are and do what they do. We should ALL appreciate them for helping to break down the barriers of ignorance and prejudice.

Regardless of how their names got here, these folks are some of Hollywood's most famous and influential talents, and have contributed to some of the greatest works in television, movies, Broadway, internet, social media, and overall charity, advocacy, activism, and awareness.

This list is intended to highlight those celebrities that have moved beyond the social stigmas and actually HELP to break down the stereotypes and ease intolerance.

Ellen DeGeneres
Came out in real life in 1997, and at the time, her relationship with actress Anne Heche made them a hot "celebrity" lesbian couple until their split in August 2000. Ellen is now married to Portia de Rossi and they both are tireless supporters of gay rights and awareness. Ellen frequently uses her show to highlight issues dealing with gay youth and teen suicide.

Elton John
Elton has been a staunch supporter of gay rights for decades. His “Elton John Aids Foundation” has raised millions of dollars for research and education. He helped bring awareness to the HIV epidemic 20 years ago when young Ryan White died from AIDS after a blood transfusion. He married David Furnish in 2005 and their son Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John was born in December 2010 in California via a surrogate.

Chris Colfer
His role on Glee was one of the first for an openly gay actor playing a gay teenage student in a network series. Chris is proud of his sexual orientation and works hard to generate awareness for gay and lesbian rights through his charity work as well as draw attention to the bullying problem in this culture.

Jane Lynch
While her character on Glee is not portrayed as gay, in real life she is married to Dr. Lara Embry in 2010 and is an advocate for several gay and lesbian awareness groups and charities.

Neil Patrick Harris
Doogie Howser grew up to star in “How I met your mother” and is openly gay even though his character is a ladies man. Harris is married to David Burtka and they have twins via a surrogate mother. He was named as one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people in 2010.

George Takei
Played Enterprise helmsman Sulu in the original 'Star Trek' television series and several "Trek" movies, came out in 2005 at the age 68. He married his gay partner, Brad Altman, in September 2008 in California. George has been an advocate for gay marriage laws throughout the country and is currently a spokesperson for the Human Rights Campaign "Coming out Project”.

Rosie O'Donnell
When President Bush first proposed a Constitutional amendment banning gay marriage in 2004, the comedian and TV host immediately flew to San Francisco and married her long-time partner Kelli Carpenter. Rosie has worked to change laws to allow gay couples to adopt children, and created “Rosie's For All Kids Foundation”. She also created the LGBT family vacation company “R Family Vacations”.

Portia de Rossi
Starred in "Ally McBeal", "Nip/Tuck" and "Arrested Development". She came out in 2005 and is now married to Ellen DeGeneres. In 2010 she wrote a book about her life and battle with depression. She is a supporter of Family Health International, Locks of Love, and The Art of Elysium.

David Hyde Pierce
Played psychiatrist Dr. Niles Crane on the sitcom Frasier and has appeared numerous times on Broadway. Came out in 2007 and admitted a relationship with longtime friend Brian Hargrove. Publicly thanked Brian for his 24 years of support during a Tony Award acceptance speech. The couple married in May 2008. Pierce has been a major supporter of “Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS” and the Doe Fund, and was vocal during California’s Proposition 8 election process.

Sir Ian McKellen
Came out publically when he was 49 while lobbying against the U.K.’s “Section 28” that would have cut off education and assistance for gay and lesbian youth. McKellen is a co-founder of “Stonewall”, a LGB rights lobby group in the United Kingdom, and is Patron of LGBT History Month, Pride London, GAY-GLOS, and The Lesbian & Gay Foundation, and FFLAG.

Runners Up

Adam Lambert
Was runner up on season 8 of American idol and showed America that is was ok to be gay and flamboyant if you had the courage to be yourself. Since Idol, Lambert has gone on to be a much more successful musician and celebrity then the actual Idol winner. Can you remember the winner’s name? Can you name one of his songs?

Perez Hilton
An openly gay and flamboyant gossip blogger, TV personality, and founder of PerezHilton.com who stirred controversy during a Miss USA telecast that led to a national discussion about gay marriage. Known early on for his sometimes hurtful doodles he scrawled over pictures, and for outing celebrities, people either love him or hate him (most celebrities hate him), but the infamous blogger has forced a national dialog on many aspects of gay Hollywood.

We know there are many names that could have been on this list, but we wanted to highlight those we felt have added constructive ideas to our world and created an opportunity for national discussion on important issues.

Remember -

It’s better to be out then in, it’s better to love then to hate, it’s better to try then to do nothing, and it’s better to do something rather than stand by and watch.

Thank you all for your hard work, dedication, and courage to be who you are.

Is Glee’s Chris Colfer’s New Career Writing for Disney and Starring in Movies?

Golden Globe winner and Glee favorite Chris Colfer may have a new career.

Colfer, 21, who plays Kurt Hummel on the smash hit TV musical series Glee, says he is working with Disney writing a new children’s series to premier on the Disney Channel.

Colfer met up with reporters at the White House Correspondents Dinner last week and, between the Donald Trump jokes, brought us up to date on the project saying,

“It’s called ‘The Little Leftover Witch’ and I’m in the process of developing the pilot with Disney right now. I’ve always wanted to write and I’ve always been kind of a secret closeted writer. I honestly never had any intentions of being a part of it and it just sort of fell into my lap. People asked me do you want to do this and I said, ‘Yes, absolutely, why not?’ It’s a great little side gig, a great hobby!”

The plot of the show will be based on the children’s book of the same name written by Florence Laughlin and Sheila Greenwald.

The “Little Leftover Witch” will tell the story of a young witch stranded for a year on the ground after crash landing her broom on Halloween night. She is taken in by the Doon family, a situation which causes problems for everybody (think bewitched), and lots of funny and happy times follow, but ultimately result in a big change for the little witch.

It sounds like a story tailor made for the Disney Channel.

If working on Glee and writing for Disney is not enough, Colfer is also acting as head writer and taking the starring role in a new high school coming of age movie directed by Brian Dannelly called “Struck by Lightning”.

According to IMDB, the movie will be shot this summer during Glee’s downtime with an expected release in 2012.

Colfer will also be busy this summer on the Glee concert tour before returning to the set in the fall to start production on the third season of Glee.

Colfer was recently named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the world alongside Justin Bieber, Amy Poehler, Mark Zuckerberg, Colin Firth, Blake Lively, and Oprah Winfrey.

Both Colfer and Bieber are long time champions of the anti-bullying movement, as well as supporters of gay and lesbian youth awareness.

Does Stefano Langone Have a Record Deal Yet? Pia Toscano Got One… Is He Gay? Can He Play Piano?

Lots of fans are talking about Stefano Langone these days.

And they are all asking the same questions:

Does he have a record deal yet? Does he really play piano and guitar? Did he hold back on American Idol? Did he really admit to being gay?

Ever since Stefano told reporters he was intentionally holding back during his American Idol performances, viewers have been wondering when he will be signed to a record contract.

Langone, 21, shocked the world when he told reporters that he is using his Idol experience as “star school”, and was planning to release his “swag” on the general public with his first album after the summer tour.

Most critics are saying it is just a matter of DAYS before he announces a record deal. Remember what happened to Pia Toscano?

Within 24 hours of Pia being eliminated she had a record deal with Interscope Records and is already working on her first single.

Stefano has been dealing with the media as if he is already the next big sensation telling reporters,

“I held back on purpose. Idol is not my style. I didn’t want viewers to see me play the guitar or piano because I am waiting to show them my passion and skills on my first album”

Langone says he knew he would never be the Idol winner so instead he has used the exposure to network and prepare to launch his own career.

He says that during the American Idol Summer Tour he plans to show audiences how good he really is.

There is also speculation that Langone will appear on the Jay Leno show this week and will be asked about not only a record deal, but also about getting arrested for DUI in 2010, and rumors that he is gay.

Another Idol, Jacob Lusk, has also admitted to being arrested but feels it won’t jeopardize his chances at winning. Jacob has admitted to being gay.

Stefano says he has a “man crush” on fellow contestant James Durbin, and has even agreed to be his best man at his wedding, but also says he is single and hanging out with the ladies – taking it all in saying, “I’m not gay”.

Who do you think is going home this week?

Evan Rachel Wood Outs Herself as Bisexual

“True Blood” actress Evan Rachel Wood told Esquire Magazine this week that she was a confirmed bi-sexual.

Wood says,

"I was always into very androgynous things. Guys, girls... I'm into androgyny in general. I’m more like the guy in my relationships with women. I'm the dominant one. I'm opening the doors, I'm buying dinner."

It may not warrant her addition to our Top Ten Gay Hollywood lists, but we’re going to keep her on our radar.

Wood’s has been involved on and off with creep rocker Marilyn Manson - at one point announcing their engagement just months before calling it off.

While not admitting that she is currently in a gay relationship, she did say she was moving to New York and would be looking for, “a nice guy or girl” to settle down with.

Wood’s has just completed work on the movie “Ides of March” due in theaters this October and directed by George Clooney.

Based on the play by Beau Willimon, “Ides of March” tells the story of an idealistic staffer for a presidential candidate who gets a crash course on dirty politics during his stint on the campaign trail.

Leave it to Clooney to bring an all-star cast including Ryan Gosling, Marisa Tomei, Paul Giamatti, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Evan Rachel Wood.

American Idol’s Jacob Lusk Arrested in L.A. – Mug Shot

This is the story about how American Idol power singer Jacob Lusk was almost NOT a contestant on the popular show.

It seems that back in November, the day after Jacob received his golden ticket to Hollywood, he was arrested in Los Angeles for not paying for a subway ticket.

Lusk, 24, was arrested back in April 2009 for the offense and decided to blow off his court appearance hoping the problem would just go away. It didn’t.

Last November after auditioning for American Idol, Lusk was pulled over in L.A. for a routine traffic stop and the cop saw he had an outstanding warrant for not showing up in court back in 2009 and was arrested.

After spending the night in jail, Lusk appeared before a judge and pleaded guilty to “failure to appear” and was sentenced to three days in Jail and two years of supervised probation.

The problem? American Idol does not allow contestants to compete if they are on probation.

So after serving his three days in jail, Lusk made an appointment with the Judge and explained his situation and begged his honor to terminate the probation so he could compete on Idol.

Thankfully, the Judge agreed and terminated Jacob’s probation allowing him to compete on season 10.

Lusk also tells a story about being in jail and explaining to the other inmates about his Idol journey and they all wanted to hear him sing. So Lusk belted out a song that was heard by over 150 inmates – and the guards.

Lusk is one of the favorites this season and has gained a strong fan following. One of his largest followings? The gay community.

While Jacob has not openly admitted to being gay, several individuals who know the singer say he is very much gay – and okay with it. Just watching him move on stage you can see how someone might form that opinion. But his fans love him.

One fan commented,

“Jacob Lusk is gayer than Elton John and Clay Aiken put together. He's almost as gay as Ryan Seacrest”

Not that there is anything wrong with that…

Lusk has commented on the show that he has been through some very very hard times in his life, but with a voice like that we suspect greener pastures are in his future. You don’t have to be the first place winner to score big on Idol. Just ask Pia Toscano.

Pia scored a record contract with Jimmy Iovine and Interscope records just 48 hours after being voted off last week.

But in case people are questioning if Jacob should even still be in the competition… we submit to you this:

Is Justin Bieber Tiring of the Fame and Fortune? Friends Say He Is Growing More and More Frustrated

Even good things can seem bad when there is too much of it too fast.

This is what some insiders are saying about teen sensation Justin Bieber and his meteoric rise to fame.

But some people close to the singer are starting to quietly come forward telling of a young man growing increasingly frustrated at the world of celebrity stardom.

Bieber’s biggest complaint?

No privacy. He is followed now by two body guards every place he goes and there is security outside his door while on the road in Hotels.

“People are ALWAYS around him. Changing his close, messing with his hair, taping microphone wires too him, move here, stand there kind of thing. When he moves around, he always moves with a team of people”.

They also say Justin is growing tired of having his mother, Pattie Mallette, around twenty-four hours a day.

“Justin is starting to grow up and is not happy having his mother shadow him while at home and on tour. He feels that he is old enough to venture out on his own and it makes him feel like a little kid when his mother is always around. He thinks it might not be cool for a kid his age to hang around his mother as much.”

Justin is guided through every step of his waking day by managers telling him about everything from what to eat, what to wear, when to sleep, when to work, and what to say. He feels like he has become the very thing he has told is fans he is not – a machine created to sing and make money for the people around him and a music producer’s record label.

“He feels like he has lost a lot of control and everything he does is now about keeping the image, and the machine, moving forward. People book things on his schedule months in advance and he has little time to just relax and be a kid. He travels almost %100 of the time”.

His biggest fear is getting sick and not being able to perform because he doesn’t want to let anybody down. He knows on any given day there may be a hundred people earning their paycheck from the “Bieber Machine”. Overseas trips are the worst as somebody on the team is always getting sick from the 5,000 mile flight.

“He is also tired of all the scrutiny in his life. In the beginning everybody thought he was gay, and then when he started dating Selena Gomez everybody wanted to kill her!”

Bieber tries to play the role of “I’m just a kid who sings”, but now that he is seventeen he is starting to see that those days are gone and that his celebrity status is going to follow him a long time wherever he goes. He is starting to see the payoff for his success – and that payoff is not having much of a normal life.

And contrary to what he has told every interview host, he does get tired of the screaming girls - and frequently wears earplugs in public to drown out the noise.

“They are always screaming. You can hear them outside the hotel at 6:00 in the morning and at 11:00 at night. Every time he gets out of a car he has to be rushed by a crowed that is screaming at him. It gets old. At first he was great with it, but now you can see it in his eyes – he is growing tired.”

But somehow we suspect that Bieber will find his inner strength and push through the drudgery. Not everybody gets this chance to live out their dream – and we’re sure he realizes that as well and is enjoying the good more than he is hating the bad.

Thailand’s Got Talent - Transgender Contestant Shocks Judges – Video Goes Viral

Not all syndicated reality shows translate across language and continents.

Thailand’s Got Talent, a knock-off of the U.S. version of America’s Got Talent, had a contestant on last night that left the judges wondering if it was a girl or a boy singing.

Bell Nuntita, a transgendered gay male who dresses like a woman, started his song with the voice of a woman but midway through changed over to his male voice.

The judges appeared shocked and surprised, but the audience erupted with cheers and applause.

Nuntita’s voice was excellent as both genders, and all three judges gave him/her a thumbs up.

Bell’s appearance is not that unusual in Thailand. Thousands of young men take female hormones and dress as females in a culture called Katoey, or Ladyboy.

The video of Bell’s performance went viral on Tuesday.

Adam Lambert To Guest On "Glee"

American Idol runner-up, and popular winner Adam Lambert, will be making a guest appearance on the hit series "Glee".

Details are few and far between, but we do know that Lambert will appear as a big-brother mentor figure to openly gay Kurt Hummel played by Chris Colfer.

Lambert was courted by producers a while back about the appearance, and reports say Lambert was "thrilled" to be part of the smash hit show.

With the exception of the talk show circuit, (Ellen, Oprah, Leno, Letterman, The View, etc.), this will be Lambert's first real shot at comedy and drama.

While we can envision a crotch grab or gay kiss arc in the yet to be written script, we suspect things will be kept to a dull roar.

The episode is scheduled to air during April 2010.

"Glee" is an underdog story where a high-school Spanish teacher becomes the director of the school's Glee club, hoping to restore it to its former glory. "Glee" has already been nominated for four Golden Globe Awards.

Lambert may have to be added to our Top Ten Openly Gay Male Hollywood list after his hit single and video, "For Your Entertainment" shot to the top of the charts.

Adam Lambert Admits He Is Gay

American Idol runner up Adam Lambert has finally come clean with what most of us already suspected - he is gay.

Lambert tells Rolling Stone Magazine:

"I don't think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear I'm gay. I've been living in Los Angeles for eight years as a gay man. I've been at clubs drunk making out with somebody in the corner."

As for the scandal over photos of him in drag that appeared on the Internet this spring, he says he forgot to take down photos from his profile on a social network for the Burning Man festival in Nevada. He admits, "I've only dressed in drag three or four times. ... I don't tuck and wear breasts, that's not me."

Lambert also told the magazine that at age 21 he was in a European tour of Hair for six months. That was when he dyed his hair black and started smoking pot and doing Ecstasy. But he says he does not like cocaine.

Ah yes, a good clean American boy.

Will Smith Gay? One Hollywood Madame Says "Yes"

The new word on the street is that actor Will Smith is gay, and has used the expensive escort services of a well-known Hollywood Madame to provide him with young male prostitutes.

The un-named Madame, who is now working out of New York, says Smith was a good client for many years.

She asserts that she had to work extra-hard to convince Smith that her operation was exclusive, and that she could "guarantee discretion."

"Once I convinced him the business could be discrete, he placed his order. It was for a male prostitute. I had fourteen good-looking women working for me - and two guys. You'd be shocked at how many Hollywood celebrities request the services of the men".

Rumors that Smith is gay have been around for several years, but until more definitive proof shows up, we don't believe it. The so-called Hollywood Madame is unknown, and only anonymous quotes have been attributed to her without any substantiation.

Besides, Smith is married to hottie Jada Pinkett Smith, who we are pretty sure would not put up with such extravagant extra-curricular activity. So for now, we have to say this is just a rumor, and a bad one at that.

For his part, Will Smith is currently wrapping work on the drama "Seven Pounds", due this December. The film tells the emotional story of Ben (Will Smith), an IRS agent who is depressed and guilt-ridden about mistakes from his past. He sets out to make amends by helping seven strangers.

If you want the low-down on who is gay, and out-and-proud in Hollywood, just take a look at our Top 10 Gay Male Celebrities List For 2008.
