Male bonding: Simon Pegg and Tom Cruise take time out from filming Mission Impossible 4 to watch a Canucks hockey game in Vancouver, Canada

He started his career as a stand up comedian in London.

But now British actor Simon Pegg is finding himself moving in A-list circles.

The Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead star spent last night with Hollywood mega-star Tom Cruise.

The two actors watched the Vancouver Canucks play Montreal Canadiens from a luxury VIP box during a break from filming their new movie Mission Impossible 4.

The two men appeared comfortable in one another's company and spent most of the game chatting.

Both Tom, 48, and Simon were dressed casually in T-shirts and jumpers and appeared concerned when the Canucks went 3-2 down.

They are currently in Vancouver filming the fourth installment of the franchise, entitled Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol.

In the film Simon, 41, reprises his role of Benji Dunn alongside Tom's Ethan Hunt - a super spy with a new case to solve.

They have been filming since last year and have shot scenes in Dubai and Prague already.

Earlier in the day Tom was spotted with his daughter Suri at a local library where the pair sat together and read before stopping by a Starbucks coffee house for a warm beverage.

Suri, 5, and Tom's wife Katie Holmes have been staying with him in the Canadian city when Katie is not filming her own movie Jack And Jill alongside Adam Sandler.

Jack and Jill is currently on a break from shooting while Adam promotes Just Go With It - his newly released comedy with Jennifer Aniston and Brooklyn Decker.
