He looked every bit the proud father as he took daughters Sunny, 6, and Chandler, 16, to their first day of school in Austin.
The James family recently arrived in the city after Jesse committed to move his children to the same town as Bullock so they could remain close to the actress
Sandra was married to Jesse for 5 years and became very close with his kids - particularly Sunny who was just a toddler when Sandra and Jesse got together.
James and his children from previous relationships have moved into a house 13 miles away from his ex-wife's estate.
Sandra's two restaurants Bess Bistro and Walton's Fancy Staple are less than 2 miles from Jesse's motorbike store.
Awkward: The divorced couple are now living close to each other in Austin and are likely to bump into each otherThe Hollywood star has said that she welcomes Jesse and the kids living nearby to her.
'I support Jesse in his move to Austin,' Bullock tells People. 'We have both moved on with our lives and only want the best for each other. Anything else that is said on my behalf is inaccurate.'
Although the two seem to be on amicable terms for the sake of the children - having her ex so close may prove difficult.
Separate lives: Sandra visits her restaurant as Jesse takes the kids to school. They live only a few miles away from each otherOnly miles from where Jesse dropped off his daughters to their new school, Sandra was busy visiting her restaurant Bess Bistro and dropping by a nearby bakery.
It shows that it's likely that the pair will run into each other as they go about their separate lives in the city.
Jesse is also said to have moved on and has a new love interest. LA Ink owner Kat Von D twittered that she and Jesse are dating. She later removed the tweet but it had already been re-tweeted by several of her fans.
This came after reports of the pair spending cosy evenings in Las Vegas together
Alone again: Jesse's adulterous behaviour ended his marriage to the Oscar winning actressJesse won a custody battle in July with ex wife Janine Lindemulder, after the court ruled he could relocate his daughters from their California home.
The motorcycle mogul had testified that he wanted to move for business purposes but he also admitted he wanted his children to maintain the close relationship they had developed with their stepmother.
The court granted James and Lundemulder joint custody but said that he could move Sunny to Texas for the start of the school year. Lundemulder has recently stated that she will also be moving to Austin to stay close with her daughter.
Sandra is said to be open to Jesse maintaining a relationship with her 8-month-old son Louis. The couple had started adoption proceedings 4 years ago when they were still happily married.

The Blindside star is due to give her first on-camera interview since the news broke earlier this year of the breakdown of her marriage. The interview with Matt Lauer will air on the Today show on August 31.
She'll film the interview this weekend in New Orleans to help publicise the new on-campus health clinic of a local school that she's funding in the city.
