Jools Oliver

By JODY THOMPSON

Here's how to do it: Jools Oliver took charge of baby Buddy Bear today, cradling his head carefully, after her husband Jamie was photographed holding the youngster incorrectly yesterday

Jools Oliver gave husband Jamie a lesson in parenthood as she took baby Buddy for a walk today.

The former model, 34, had a gentle hand carefully cradling her son's skull and neck as she walked near their London home today with a friend.

Perhaps she had seen photos of 35-year-old Jamie's slip-up yesterday, when he failed to hold their baby correctly.

The celebrity chef shocked onlookers when he appeared to let newborn Buddy's head loll unsupported.

Luckily for the youngster, mother Jools knows exactly what to do with her fourth child.

At such a tender age, babies have feeble muscular strength and very little head control, so their head will lag uncomfortably if you don't give them a helping hand.

However, the star's spokesman said: 'Jamie is fully aware of the need to support the baby's head and does so, as most fathers would.

'Having had four children, he does know the rules.'

Mother knows best: Even while keeping an eye on Petal, multi-tasking Jools had Buddy held correctly

Still, Jamie has a lot on his plate, as he's currently busier than ever with his business and TV career as well as coping with his young children.

Along with his ever-expanding chain of restaurants, his Emmy-award winning Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution is currently showing on Channel 4.

The show follows his efforts to help the people of Huntington, West Virginia, eat better as he takes his fresh food message to the States.

He's also campaigning to save his Rotherham Ministry Of Food from closure.

The Ministry was set up as part of his 2008 Channel 4 series which sought to teach good cooking on a tight budget to people in the South Yorkshire town.

It was backed by central government funding, which Oliver said he had heard could be under threat in an interview on Monday.
