Hello boys: Kirstie Alley gives a glimpse of her slimmer body in a picture of herself with some 'Italian men friends' she posted on Twitter
She set male pulses racing as sexy Rebecca Howe in TV show Cheers.
But Kirstie Alley has looked anything but healthy for a very long time, thanks to her ever-increasing waistline.
Waiting for the big reveal: The actress didn't seem overly keen to show off too much of her reduced shape
The actress admitted last year that she had ballooned up to 230 lbs after losing 75 pounds with Jenny Craig.
And her latest struggle to lose weight has been played out in front of the cameras for her A&E reality show The Big Life.
But it looks like Kirstie is finally getting back into shape after unsuccessfully battling with her weight for years.
In an interview with Ladies Home Journal earlier this year, Kirstie spoke openly about her disappointment in herself.
Excited: Kirstie Alley is thri
She said: 'I was shocked because I looked, you know, circus fat.
'When we get fat, we fool ourselves with every kind of lie imaginable.
'By 2008, my weight started creeping up and I said, "Oh, I still look good at 150. I still look good at 155. I still look okay at 165. Some of my clothes still fit at 175."
'And nobody was saying "you're fat." I was like a bank robber who was getting away with it. Next thing I know I'm 190, 200, 210 (lbs).
'And meanwhile I'm only looking at myself in the mirror from the neck up.'
Fat Actress: Kirstie at her biggest, which she claims was 230 lbs
But now it looks as if Kirstie might be on the right path again, if her recent Twitter postings are anything to go by.
'I've lost over 50 lbs...and I'm having the time of my of my life...30 more to go!' she says.
The 59-year-old gave fans a little glimpse of her new look by posting a picture of herself with a group of hunky Italian men on Twitter.
She Tweeted: 'Me and my Italian men friends'.
Kirstie may be disappointed in her weight gain, but she isn't making excuses about it.
She says: 'My mom was skinny, my dad was hot-looking, and my two siblings were just normal-looking healthy.
'People say, "Oh, you're just big boned." I'm not big boned. My bones are small. I just ate too much.'
And she is determined to make it work this time.
'You've got to make this process fun or else you'll want to quit. Losing weight should be at least half as much fun as having sex.'
Not that Kirstie is dating right now, as her first priority is getting into shape and happy with herself again.
'As I get older it's harder to know what I would want in a relationship.
'I love spending time with my kids and my friends and my animals. I love traveling and working. The last thing I need to think about is some dude.'
